My Morning Routine

Image
1. I always sleep with my hair in some sort of loose ponytail or loose braid, so when I wake up I take out my hair and add a new hair oil that I was recommended by the hairdresser. It's the Aveda Dry Remedy Daily Moisturizing Oil. 2. Then I brush my hair out using a detangling comb or the Wet Brush. I rediscovered a product I bought years ago, the OGX Argan Oil of Morocco Voluminous Mousse, I add some to my hair when it's dry because I don't like the way it works with my damp hair. 3. Then I tone my face using the 2nd step of the Clinique 3-step system (it's my all-time favorite) 4. I follow that by using the 3rd step of the Clinique 3-step system, this lotion doesn't make my skin break out and doesn't feel too heavy. 5. After brushing my teeth, I always apply the cocoa butter Vaseline Lip Therapy. 6. I find that doing a few minutes of stretching in the morning really helps with my mood, I've been trying to do this when I wake up on time (or if my

Best Brith Control and Period Tracker Apps

Image
1. Eve: This is the app that I currently use. I prefer the look of this app, the log has a lot of great options, also there is an awesome community where you can ask and answer questions, or just make friends. There is a reminder setting to take your birth control and to log your health. Every day when you log your health and press done little really helpful insights will show up to help you understand your cycle. It has a list view or a calendar view so you can visualize your cycle and how your body has been feeling. You can add a password or fingerprint to this app. This app is free but does have a Premium option where you can take more quizzes (but that's not relevant to my needs) 2. Spot On by Planned Parenthood This app looks nice, there is a health log portion where you enter your mood, how your body feels, what sort of activity you've done, and if you have your period and the flow you're experiencing. This app has reminders to take your birth control, when your

High-End Makeup Wish List: Face Products

My Skin Type: I have a fair complexion, my cheeks and under-eye area are dry. The corners of my nose are either oily or dry and flaky. I tend to buy products for dry skin because my skin is dry most of the time. I do have sensitive skin, but nothing extreme...... Foundation: -Perricone MD No Foundation Foundation: I've heard really great things on this online but there are only two shades which can be aggravating. -Make Up Forever Ultra HD Invisible Cover Foundation: They have a HUGE color selection, but this is not for someone with oily skin, that is made very clear in the reviews. BB & CC Creams: -IT Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC Cream w/ SPF 50: Limited Shades but "enough" -Clinique Moisture Surge CC Cream Hydrating Color Corrector w/ 30 SPF: Again not a lot of shades *** Neither of these products provide colors for girls with darker than "Medium Deep" skin tones Concealer: -NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer: Tons of colors that cater t

Formula 10.0.6: Pores Be Pure

Image
Yesterday, I tried the Formula 10.0.6 Pores Be Pure Skin-Clarifying Mud Mask (Strawberry + Yarrow)... First Impression : Much creamier than the Deep Down Detox Ultra-Cleansing Mud Mask (Orange + Bergamot) which I really enjoyed, it felt less heavy and was easier to spread over my face. During the drying process : This mask definitely felt different while drying than the Detox Mud Mask, I don't really know how to describe it but I liked it. This mask was definitely lighter on my skin and dried more evenly. I let it dry for about 17 minutes, there was one spot on my cheek and nose that weren't fully dry but I added extra at the very end and I think that was why. Rinsing : This face mask was a little easier to get off than the Detox mask initially, but I found that I later had to rinse my skin again because it felt like there might have been some residue on my face. Final Thoughts : I feel like this mask made my skin very dry, although I do think it made my skin look very

Organize your iPhone Calender

I like to color code my calendar. For college:  I use the color red because that is UMass' color. --I always put my classes in my calendar even though they repeat every week. Mostly so I can tell when something will interfere, but also so when a class is canceled I just remove it from my calendar for that week. I also do this because when we have Monday holidays the university changes Tuesdays to a Monday schedule so I just move my Monday classes to that Tuesday. I am a very visual person. For work:  I use light blue, because it's the lightest color on there, and my schedule is the same every week. I don't need them to jump out at me but sometimes I forget what day of the week it is. For family events:  I use yellow because those are the most infrequent events. This is one of those shared iCloud calendars. Throughout the year my family and I will add school breaks, vacations, work schedules, dentist and doctor appointments to this calendar. For my personal

Colourpop Liquid Lipstick Swatches

Image
Over Halloween I realized that I wanted to try wearing more lip products, I had borrowed some friends in the past and received lip glosses and lipsticks in my Birchbox before. I ordered some Matte Liquid Lipsticks off of colourpop.com  The formulas of the Colourpop lipsticks are luxurious and easy to play with, I always make sure to use a lip scrub before wearing them. They don't flake and do a great job of not fading throughout the night, especially when you're drinking. If you let the lipsticks dry completely, there is very little color transfer onto cups, etc. I find these easiest to apply with a Q-tip around the edges of my lips, I find that I have more control. I think this is a great hack for the darker colors. The Manna lipgloss is basically my natural lip color just glossier, I adore it. It was a little sticky but I didn't really notice it. I wore this with my minimal makeup for the Superbowl and I thought it just brought my entire look together.

Favorite Apps for College

Note Taking: One Note This is by far my favorite. This app is smooth and connects straight to my laptop so I can sit at my desk or type in class, or I can have my notes and lists on the go. I made a free Outlook account and that's what this is connected to, but I am pretty sure you can connect your school email for free, as well. To-Do Lists: Wunderlist I like this because there aren't any advertisements and it is simple and easy to use. I can add Due Dates and Reminders. I can also add subcategories, like in my Soc242 class I have 5 discussions to do this week. This app really helps me stay organized because I can separate my grocery lists from my school lists. Studying: StudyBlue I have been using this app since high school, there is a website and an app. The flashcards look good. You can look up other p
