The Truth of the Butterflies

I just want to get this off my chest, we are only twenty years old, we are not required to know what we're going to do for the rest of our lives. We should be doing what makes us genuinely happy. We should be making unforgettable memories, we should be embracing our friends. We should be going on road trips, going to concerts, staying up until 4 am. Listening to loud music, and dying our hair crazy colors.  Also, we are allowed to experience our emotions, no one can tell us what we are feeling is wrong. Different things affect people in different ways, people go through hard times at different points, they just need the support from the people who love them.  We shouldn't be embarrassed by our decisions, we shouldn't be embarrassed by our emotions. But what we do need to be embarrassed about is being selfish and ignoring other peoples emotions while on the journey to "benefit" ourselves, you should be you without hurting other people.  We are allowed to have

1. Decide whether you want to be close or far from home 2. Decide whether you want a small, medium, large school      -If you would want an all girls school or not 3. Choose if you want your college to be in a urban or rural area 4. Look at schools that have a variety of subjects (majors/minors) that you're interested in. 5. See if you're guaranteed housing for all four years if that is important to you 6. Remember every school can be a party school, so don't even worry about that 7. If you will need a car on campus, make sure that they are allowed. Once you have the a list of about 5-10 schools, visit them, if you like them and can see yourself going there. Apply. Then apply for Financial Aid if necessary. When finally deciding, choose a school that you can genuinely see yourself going. Some place that you feel you can fit in while being totally yourself. milk and honey is by rupi kaur it is a collection of poems that are sorted into four sections: the hurting the loving the breaking the healing The poems are filled with intense emotion, intense imagery, and descriptions that can make your skin crawl. All of her poems are absolutely beautiful. I totally recommend this book of poems BUT I do give this book a trigger warning to anyone who has ever been emotionally or physically abused. There are some very graphic poems in here that might make it difficult to read. But she was truthful and that is what i think is truly beautiful. She is showing other women that they are not alone in whatever they have gone through. all your emotions and thoughts are valid. you're not crazy.
