My family has this little tradition of visiting Freeport and staying in a Bed & Breakfast, called the Brewster House. It is owned by the sweetest people that are full of knowledge and really dedicated to making it feel like home. They live there with one of their daughters as well as their dog but they have their own separate closed off part of the house. My family always stays on the top floor where there's two rooms connected by a bathroom. One with a King size bed and one with two twin size beds. But Freeport in the winter is amazing. The breakfasts that come with the stay are out of this world. They are incredibly talented and totally open to changing anything to your preferences. My sister and I really love all of the hot chocolate flavors they have to offer, and my mother and I obsess over their juices. They have the most beautiful christmas tree during the winter season with a fireplace, and a bookshelf filled with wonderful books.

The first stop when we get to Freeport is always Wicked Whoopies and we buy a few whoopie pies. There are SO MANY flavors and there are even giant like 15 lb whoopie pies as well as coffee. This year we went to the Tuscan Bistro for dinner and it was super comfortable, definitely a popular place for families, adults, and work dinners. It is sort of expensive but totally worth it. We got the Veal special and I never wanted to stop eating it. Also it's very close to L.L Bean so afterwards we went to the light show and that was wonderfully fun.

LL Bean in Freeport, ME is open 24/7 for 365 days of the year. Everyone there is so so so so friendly and they have a giant bean boot which is my favorite part of the store, but they have horse drawn carriage rides, they have three separate buildings all on the same property and a Ben & Jerry's. The main building has clothing, backpacks, shoes, tents, etc. Then another building is for home goods. Then the last is full of kayaks, canoes, things for fishing. They have places for children to play and they have a great customer service section. This year my sister really wanted a pair of Bean Boots because we had a coupon but they were totally out in women's, so the lady in the shoe section actually told us to check out the Men's section because a size 7 in Men's is very unusual, and guess what, we found them and didn't have to wait all the way until April. Actually this year I gave them my Bean Boots so they could be prepared and it was completely free and only took like 6 weeks. The light show happens like every half and hour or something like that (maybe every hour) and it plays to a song or two and is timed perfectly and the kids dance to it and it's such a lovely moment. I tried to record it but my camera decided to die and not record sound for some reason. They put lights on all of the trees along the pathways, and it just feels like the North Pole. It's magical actually.

When we leave Freeport for the second year in row we stop in Portland for a Sunday lunch and go to a sport's bar and grill to watch a Patriots game. This year we went to a new place because it had way better reviews and I really wish I could remember what it was called because everyone there was so friendly and they had probably 7-9 TV screens with football everywhere and the BEST PULLED PORK SANDWICH I've ever had. I have never been happier about a sandwich before.
