The Truth of the Butterflies

I am majoring in Communication Disorders and minoring in Linguistics (that's the plan at least) and I have taken a lot of electives/gen-eds and thought I would tell you about my favorite classes so far. My first semester I took Linguistics 201: Intro to Linguistic Theory and did really well, and also really really enjoyed it. It focused on speech sounds and syntax which surprisingly really caught my attention and really related to my major in school. I also took Microbiology 160: Biology of Cancer and AIDS which was a difficult class but it was so interesting that I never skipped a lecture. The teacher was super smart and made the class interesting and tried to think of things that would help us remember what he was talking about. Luckily, I had some friends in my classes so I had study buddies. But this was one of the most informative classes I've taken. As I get older I find that it is much more difficult to come up with a wish list for my parents. So in case anyone else needs help thinking about presents for a 20 year old female in their life, here is a few things that would be cool to get. So I have been on the birth control pill for 4-5 years and just recently decided that I would really like to have a more permanent birth control method. A birth control method that I couldn't mess up myself. One of the girls I worked with at my summer job mentioned how she had the implana and how it's been super awesome, she didn't have to take pills, she didn't have to get anything refilled, it lasted for  3 years. And three years will last me until after I graduate college which is amazing. Which is amazing, so when i went in for my annual physical and talked to my doctor about it and sent me to a OGBYN to get more details and more information, she informed me the risks and side affects and also told me that because I have been on birth control for so long I would be a good contestant and hopefully wouldn't experience many bad side affects. Today my roommate moved out and I'm actually really sad about it. I didn't realize how close we were and how much I liked her until she moved out. But the new girl is crazy, within the first five minutes she freaked out. She freaked out about the bed being lofted, about THERE BEING A DESK IN HER ROOM, and she just started crying for no reason. Like I'm sure there are some deeper problems that I don't know about. But I'm so mad that she's my roommate. I was so close to getting my best friend to move in after she came back from Italy and now I have this crazy girl. Also, she doesn't have any decorations in her room so my room now looks like a prison. I feel like I'm sort of overreacting but her old roommate sent me a warning and told me that I should get her to move out because she's a bipolar nightmare. I definitely should get to know her, but I'm sort of an awkward person. 

My Roommate and I painted these pumpkins in a dorm hall event and it was a lot of fun and it ends up she's really good at art and her pumpkin came out 100 times better than mine but it's like effort that matters. just kidding, hers came out super awesome and really brought the halloween feel into our room. Her pumpkin is still there, and is frozen from being in front of the window so it has not died yet.  This was supposed to be Sadness from Inside Out

First, the Montale Dark Purple perfume smelt AMAZING! Sort of mom-ish (well like 23 and up) so I gave it to my mom but I smelt it for a solid period of time after opening my box. It was florally while at the same time sort of...musty? but like in a really good way. It smelt mature, like I would wear to a fancy place or on a date. I literally have no use for curl cream so that was sort of irrelevant to me. BUT The Beauty Crop Lighting Crew Highlighting Cream is BEAUTIFUL. I'm not sure if you can see it in the picture but it's gold, but with a pink tint to it. Which for my pale complexion works so much better than gold. I just thought it was a beautiful color on my skin. It is a scary formula though, when it comes out it's like a liquid and when you first blend it, it is SUPER intense which made me super nervous but it nicely ends up blending in and not looking like you just painted your cheeks light pink.  The Loc lipstick was a really nice salmony nu...
